Special Considerations for the Supervision of Home-Based CounselorsVirginia Tech, glawson{at}vt.edu Home-based counseling is often the most effective intervention for families that have a child at risk for removal from the home. Whereas the process of home-based counseling has received a fair amount of attention in the literature, there has been little attention paid to the supervision of the counselors who provide the services. This article presents some of the unique challenges inherent in providing home-based counseling and specific supervision considerations designed to support home-based counselors and the families they serve.
