A Divergent Look at Adoption: Implications for Family CounselorsIdaho State University Adoption has significantly added to the landscape ofpossiblefamily forms. Despite general support for adoption by the public and its continued occurrence, adoption research has recently been described as falling short of meeting 30-year-old challenges to broaden the research base on adoption (Barth, 1994). Herein are described recent research efforts on adoption and implicationsforfamily counselor practice.
