Alzheimers Disease and the Family: Current ResearchIdaho State University
Idaho State University The prevalence of Alzheimers disease (AD) continues to increase. With greater numbers of individuals living longer, the chances of developing or knowing a family member who will develop AD is also greater. Thus, the importance for family counselors to be cognizant of the issues related to counseling a family with a member who has AD is paramount. This article reviews current research on family caregivers needs and experiences with AD.
