Family Grief and MourningUniversity of South Carolina Loss of any type is difficult. Death of a loved one is particularly disturbing. The process of mourning this loss is uniquely handled by individuals and families. Family counselors must be aware of the symptoms of grief expressed by their clients and help them through the necessary mourning process.
